W. Daniel A. Lamey, CAE Dan Lamey, is President of MFM Lamey Group, LLC.He has over 30 years experience in the international trade and development and meetings industries, and was a senior association executive in both Canada and the United States.He was Secretary General of Junior Chamber International and Executive Director of the Kinsmen Clubs of Canada.For the past 14 years, Dan has lead MFM's production, marketing, and project identification for U.S. Government international trade promotion events and conferences around the world, representing billions of dollars in international trade and investment opportunities in emerging market countries.He has also managed MFM's portfolio of association meeting management clients.Dan was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Administration from St. Mary's University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.He is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a past President of the Florida Society of Association Executives. Christopher S. Schaffer Christopher Schaffer is Vice President of MFM Lamey Group, LLC.He manages MFM Lamey Group’s strategic business development and client relationships for U.S. Government and other clients.He has managed marketing and logistics at several conferences and trade missions for MFM clients, including in the U.S., Mexico, Jordan, India, Oman, Turkey, China, South Africa, Peru, Thailand, El Salvador, and Morocco.He also directs market research, program development, and communications related to client projects.He gained international development and conference support experience as a contractor for the U.S. Agency for International Development in a program analyst role.He is a Bachelor of Arts graduate of Lewis and Clark College, Portland, OR and received his MBA from the University of Miami in 2005. Merle Klein Merle Klein is Director of Meeting Operations for MFM Lamey Group, and is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing a wide variety of events and meetings. She has more than 14 years experience in the event industry, developing, planning and managing all phases of conferences and trade shows. These include dental association conferences, large corporate expositions and the Miami International Boat Show. Currently she is MFM’s meetings manager for the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science and has handled registration and conference support for both associations and non-association clients including the International Advertising Association, Flexographic Technology Association, and various U.S. Government agencies, both domestic and international. Ms. Klein also has extensive experience in the areas of sales, marketing, and corporate sponsor recruitment. Pamela Peseux Pamela Peseux is Director of Sales and Marketing for MFM Lamey Group.She has more than twenty years of experience in marketing, business development, and international project/conference management.She was a marketing manager for Cellular One/SBC Communications, a program manager for Teleconsult International and directed the advertising and marketing programs for telecom accounts as an account executive for FGI, an advertising and market research agency specializing in the telecommunications industry.She developed the program and recruited speakers for USAID-funded telecom policy conferences in Eastern Europe.She was Maryland's representative for USAID's Global Technology Network working with local firms to increase exports.As an Associate Director of Executive Programs at the University of Maryland University College’s (UMUC) Graduate School of Management and Technology, Ms. Peseux directed student recruitment for the Global MBA and International Management Programs, advised on program development and created networking and professional development events for international management alumni.Since 1999, Ms. Peseux has played a key role in MFM Trade Meeting's industry marketing efforts, recruiting attendees and corporate sponsorship for both conferences and trade missions.Ms. Peseux holds a Master’s degree in International Management (MIM) from UMUC. Douglas Shuster Doug Shuster is an International Trade Consultant with MFM Lamey Group.Doug has over 14 years of experience in emerging markets trade and investment promotion, market research and analysis, event management and industrial and infrastructure planning.He served as Regional Manager for Business Development for Sub-Saharan Africa at the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he assisted U.S. and African government and industry leaders to implement priority projects and develop innovative public-private partnerships leading to increased trade.His portfolio included a wide range of investments to advance infrastructure projects in the region, with an emphasis on the transportation, energy and power, and telecommunications sectors.At USTDA, he also managed the agency’s South Asia portfolio, worked as an Analyst with the agency’s Chief Economist, served as Eurasia Project Analyst responsible for developing the agency’s post-September 11 strategy for Afghanistan and Central Asia, and was instrumental in opening USTDA programs in Afghanistan, Pakistan, East Timor, Liberia and the DRC.As the Senior Trade and Investment Advisor to the U.S.-Asia Environmental Partnership, Shuster worked to promote the transfer of appropriate environmental technologies from the U.S. into fifteen Asian economies.His management of these portfolios, including a wide range of international trade missions and trade related international technical symposia, has facilitated over $1 billion of increased trade and investment into emerging markets.He has also served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Ghana as a Water and Sanitation Technician, where he developed sustainable grass roots projects while living in a rural village.Doug holds a Masters in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where his studies focused on International Trade and Investment and Emerging Markets Economic Development, and a Bachelor of Arts from Clark University. Rebeca Gil Rebeca Gil is a Program and Logistics Manager with MFM Lamey Group.Ms. Gil has managed technical exchanges, orientation visits and conferences since 2001.Her responsibilities include the logistical and marketing management in support of projects for various government agencies and private organizations.While organizing and facilitating conferences, Ms. Gil has also identified potential business opportunities, coordinated a team effort to execute them and participated in consulting projects in Latin America.She has acted as interpreter and translator for these Latin American based projects and is fluent in verbal and written Spanish.Ms. Gil holds a B.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Minor in Spanish from Radford University, 1997; she studied Spanish Business at the Enforex School in Barcelona, Spain 2000.
